Get into Teaching

Designing a government service to inpire more people to take up teaching

My role

Get into Teaching finished

The project

I spent a year embedded in a DfE team creating a new website to help prospective teachers get the information they need.

I was brought in after a difficult Alpha and began working with the team to course correct the project. Using data gained from user research sessions and applying a different approach to the branding I designed the go-live version of the current site, which was nominated for the Times Graduate recruitment awards.

The main challenge that I faced was how to apply the strict branding rules set by the business. I was able to convince them that the current branding does not fully account for multi-page experience and would be of detriment to the user. They eventually agreed and we went live and saw an upswing in high quality leads from the service.
